About St George Appliances

Stan Shuetrium founded St George Appliances in his backyard in Bexley, Sydney in 1947.
A weider by trade, Stan hit upon the idea of manufacturing and selling ovens to create employment opportunities for members of his family.
Together with his brother Bob, they applied their trade selling ovens from the back of their truck in the streets of the Sutherland Shire of Sydney.
St George products are still performing fantastically in homes some 30 years into their lifecycle, the products built with same attention to detail today that was used back when the brand was created.
Handcrafted in Australia for Australians and an Australian Design Award Winner, St George Appliances have always been recognized as leaders in quality and innovation. Each oven continues to be handcrafted at our manufacturing plant in Chester Hill.
The Stainless Steel is cut by punch and laser cutters shaped by presses and finally etched with high tech lasers to ensure easy use for the life of the products.
It is this attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship that gives St George its reputation for durability and reliability and which continues to ensure superior cooking performance.
