Many major brands don't actually produce their own appliances: Blanco, Technika and Beumatic just to mention a few.

Without malice, even many of the appliance manufacturers themselves will have products outsourced and manufactured elsewhere then rebadge with their own brand names such as Bosch, Westinghouse, Whirlpool and Franke: these are among the most obvious examples.

The biggest pitfalls relate to lack of quality and consistency; hence the importance of knowing what distinguishes quality and performance.

Buying according to brand name no longer make any sense as many top names such as Bosch, Fisher & Pykel and Electrolux are just a few of the many manufacturers who bring in products made in China.
