As you're probably aware, these days a considerable proportion of Ovens, Cooktops, Rangehoods, Canopies, and Dishwashers are imported from Europe.

However, did you know that many household names such as Blanco, Technika, Baumatic and many others don't actually manufacture most of the appliances which they sell?

They simply buy from European manufacturers (such as Brandt, Filippi, Meneghetti, Tecnogas), and have these appliances re-badged before entering Australia. Within the industry, this is known as "Re-Badging" or "Badge Engineering". However, for consumers Badge Engineering creates a number of problems including:
